SOLUTION: This malfunction diagnosis device for the fuel injection system uses a cylinder pressure sensor for actually measuring illustrated torque Ti actually generated in each cylinder. When a cylinder exists in which the actual illustrated torque Ti deviates a preset value A or greater from target illustrated value Tit, it diagnoses the malfunction of the fuel injection system for the cylinder. Namely, the malfunction diagnosis device for the fuel injection system diagnoses the malfunction of the fuel injection system with the actual illustrated torque Ti correlative to an actual fuel injection amount, as a parameter, thus actualizing highly precise malfunction diagnosis.
