PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil immersion type push/pull solenoid which has little risk of effusion of oil. SOLUTION: The solenoid has a plunger 12 combined with a shaft 11, a plunger housing chamber which houses the plunger 12 and whereto pressure oil is introduced, a first bobbin 14 and a second bobbin 15 disposed in the outer circumferential surface of the plunger 12 spaced in an axial direction, first and second coils 16, 17 wound on the first and second bobbins 14, 15, respectively, a yoke 18 combined with the first and second bobbins, respectively between the first and second bobbins 14, 15, a housing 40 for housing the members, an annular first seal member 23 provided between at least one side edge face of one of the first bobbin 14 and the second bobbin 15 and the housing 40, and an annular second seal member 24 provided between an inner circumferential surface of the other of the first bobbin 14 and the second bobbin 15 and the housing 40, or between the other side edge face and the housing 40.
