PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve the emission characteristic of a device by preventing damages to an organic layer by the formation of a cathode as well as by improving the electron injection efficiency from the cathode to the organic layer. SOLUTION: The organic EL device contains a buffer layer located between the organic layer and the cathode, and is formed of a transparent conductive organic material which contains a dopant material having an electron donative property.
