PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker to perform the cooking rice by putting rice and water in a pot which enables a user to accurately adjust the water by a simple operation to boil the delicious rice. SOLUTION: The gross weight of the pot 12 and the weight of an article to be cooked in the pot 12 is sensed by a weight sensing means 40 and a heating coil 13 to heat the pot 12 is controlled by a control section 300. The control section 300 calculates a volume of rice in the pot 12 on the basis of an output signal of the weight sensing means 40 at the first timing when a key input means 51 inputs a volume of rice determination command, calculates the optimum volume of water corresponding to the volume of rice in the pot 12 on the basis of the above calculation, calculates the volume of water in the pot 12 on the basis of the output signal of the weight sensing means 40 and the volume of rice, makes a volume of water display section 52 display the volume of water in the pot 12 or a relative value of the volume of water in the pot 12 to the optimum volume of water, and makes a vocal guiding section 309 inform the present volume of water and the progress forecasting volume of water or the relative value of the present volume of water and the progress forecasting volume of water to the optimum volume of water by the voice synthesis.
