PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes treatment apparatus capable of reducing the torque necessary for a rotary compartment motor. SOLUTION: The clothes treatment apparatus is structured so that a rotary compartment 23 accumulates the energy in an elastic body 27 during the deceleration period and receives the energy from the elastic body 27 during the acceleration period of rotation of the rotary compartment 23. Accordingly, the rotary compartment 23 is sufficiently accelerated with the supply of the small torque from the rotary compartment motor 24 for washing or drying operation.
