A RADIO ACCESS NETWORK SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR REALIZING HANDOVER THEREOF

A radio access network system, comprising: a source user equipment (UE) access device, a target user equipment (UE) access device, and a protocol stack transferring decision point; the source UE access device and the target UE access device are used for transmitting the received UE radio signal to the protocol stack transferring decision point; and the protocol stack transferring decision point is used for performing processing such as macro diversity combining. The present invention also disclosed a method for the radio access network system realizing handover. The source UE access device delete the radio interface protocol stack instance established for UE, the source UE access device and the target UE access device transmit the received UE radio signal to the protocol stack transferring decision point, the protocol stack transferring decision point performs processing such as macro diversity combining. The system and method according to the present invention simplifies the flow chart for handovering between radio access networks, reduces the radio transferring resource occupancy, and decreases the data transferring delay of the radio access network.
