<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing a light shielding film which has a black color tone, and is high in the optical density and small in the difference between thicknesses in an image part and a non-image part. <P>SOLUTION: The production method for the light shielding film comprises exposing an emulsion layer containing a photosensitive silver halide emulsion, forming an image by developing an image receiving layer containing a silver deposition agent, provided in the vicinity of the emulsion layer, together with the emulsion layer, and then removing the emulsion layer.
