HANDOVER METHOD AND SYSTEM IN BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for supporting hard handover in a broadband wireless access communication system.

SOLUTION: A method is disclosed for providing the handover in the broadband wireless access communication system. The method includes the steps of: dividing a data transmission field for mobile stations (MSs) into a handover field and a normal user field; allocating at least one subchannel in the normal user field to non-handover MSs, when predetermined MSs are the non-handover MSs; allocating at least one subchannel in the handover field to handover MSs, when predetermined MSs are the handover MSs; and performing communication through the allocated one or more subchannels.
