PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line carrier communication system in which electromagnetic waves are generated in a power line by common mode current nonetheless the electromagnetic waves emitted from the power line are controlled to a reference value or below . SOLUTION: The power line carrier communication system has a signal transmitting part 11 which transmits a communication signal to the power line 50, a control part 12 which controls transmitting output necessary for transmission of the communication signal performed by the signal transmitting part 11 and a detection part 20 which is arranged in the power line 50 and detects the common mode current which flows in the power line 50. Then, the control part 12 is informed of a detection result from the detection part 20 and the transmitting output of the communication signal from the signal transmitting part 11 is adjusted based on the detection result. The system suitably adjusts the transmitting output so that the electromagnetic waves emitted from the power line 50 become the reference value or below according to the common mode current which actually flows in the power line 50.
