PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an accessory only a necessary portion of which can be sized as desired. SOLUTION: The footprint, handprint or the like of a pet or a human is captured using shape-capturing material to produce a mold. The mold is scanned using a three-dimensional scanner and thus converted into the three-dimensional data of the mold. A three-dimensional image of the mold is reversed about its irregularities, and desired portions of projecting contours in the image reversed are cut out. Three-dimensional data for a prepared base is read into a computer and displayed on a computer display. A synthesizing process for disposing the cut contours in desired positions on the base is performed to synthesize original form three-dimensional data that provides the original form of the accessory to be produced. Wax is machined using an NC cutting machine according to the original form three-dimensional data. Using the original form of wax obtained, the accessory is produced by lost-wax casting.
