PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of efficiently and suitably providing search results desired by a user, its control method, and a program. SOLUTION: A search for multimedia data is made in accordance with search conditions. A desired display pattern is set based on candidates for display patterns. The multimedia data obtained as search results are analyzed in accordance with rules of analysis that match the search conditions. Rules of display associated with the set display pattern are selected and the content of display to be displayed as search results is determined based on the selected rules of display and the result of the analysis.
