PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has high wear and scuffing resistances and good electrical properties, in which cracking and film peeling hardly occur particularly in a photosensitive layer, and which ensures high durability and high performance, and to provide an image forming method using the high durability and high performance photoreceptor so that enhanced image quality is realized over a prolonged period of time, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge for the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by sequentially stacking at least a charge generating layer, a charge transport layer and a crosslinked charge transport layer on a conductive support, wherein the charge transport layer consists essentially of a low-molecular charge transport material and a binder resin, and wherein the crosslinked charge transport layer is based on a cured body of a charge transport radical polymerizable monomer and a non-charge-transport polyfunctional radical polymerizable monomer, the same low-molecular charge transport material as that in the charge transport layer is contained in the crosslinked charge transport layer.
