PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a pneumatic radial tire constituted so as to mold the penumatic radial tire excellent in high speed durability by belt molding drums having the same structure regardless of a tire size. SOLUTION: The belt molding drums 1 having the same radius in its width direction and made radially expansible and contractible are used to wind strip-like reinforcing members 3a comprising a rubber coated fiber cord around the outer peripheral sides of the belt layers 2a and 2b wound around the belt molding drums 1 to form a belt cover layer 6. In this case, the radii of the belt molding drums 1 at the time of winding of the strip-like reinforcing members 3a are continuously or stepwise changed so as to be made large at the time of winding of the strip-like reinforcing members 3a around the central regions of the belt layers 2a and 2b but made small at the time of winding of the strip-like reinforcing members 3a around the end part regions of the belt molding drums 1.
