<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a host bacterium which is advantageous for industrial production by elucidating a spore-formation-related gene in a bacterium of the genes Bacillus and eliminating, inactivating or strengthening the gene. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention provides a gene composed of either one of (a) a polynucleotide encoding an SigE protein or a protein which is functionally equivalent to the SigE protein and (b) a polynucleotide composed of a base sequence having ≥80% identity to that of the polynucleotide (a) and being functionally equivalent to the polynucleotide (a). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
