<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing apparatus in which a user can simply discriminate images as photographed images photographed in the same day even in a state that index images are displayed. <P>SOLUTION: Thumbnail images of a plurality of the photographed images recorded in a recording medium are arrayed and displayed on an LCD monitor 109a so that the respective thumbnail images are surrounded by respective display frames to display so-called index images. Since the respective thumbnail images are arrayed and displayed by being surrounded by the display frames of different colors (in the figure, the same hatching is the same color) in accordance with photographing dates corresponding to the photographed images, the photographing dates can be easily discriminated.
