PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for listing road traffic information out of a display range in characters. SOLUTION: The car navigation device acquires level-3 information of VICS information, and acquires traffic congestion information at every link on a recommended course based on road map data stored in a map storage device 2 and the level-3 information of VICS information. When a display command of traffic congestion information out of the display is issued from an input device 4 during the display of the road map on a display monitor 8, the traffic congestion information out of the display is listed in characters based on the acquired traffic congestion information at every link on the recommended course.
