PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharge device which prevents the occurrence of air bubbles when a head is sealed to suck the discharge liquid to prevent air bubbles from getting mixed in a nozzle and can shorten the suction time of the discharge liquid, a suction method for the discharge liquid in the liquid droplet discharge device, an electrooptical device and an electronic device. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet discharge device 10 has a suction means 400 of the discharge liquid 4 which seals the head 11 for discharging the discharge liquid 4. The suction means 400 is equipped with a body 401 for sealing the nozzle of the head 11, an additional liquid supply part 405 for supplying an additional liquid ML into the body 401 and a negative pressure producing part 402 for reducing the pressure in the body 401 to suck the discharge liquid 4 from the nozzle of the head 11.
