The present invention relates to a nutritional composition containing protein, fat and carbohydrate; and a. a nucleotide component selected from the group consisting of nucleic acid, nucleic acid derivatives, nucleotides, nucleoside polyphosphates, polynucleotides, nucleosides, ribose, desoxyribose, and dinucleosidpolyphosphates (Np_XN); and b. a non-proteinaceous negatively charged, glycan or glycoconjugate component with a molecular weight between 200 and 20.000 dalton. The present nutritional composition is particularly suited for feeding infants as it mimics the protective effects of human milk, in particular against allergies and infections.
