The bus network system is provided to operate a plaurality of European Installation Bus (EIB) user modules. The system includes a plurality of Ethernet Bus Coupling Units which are connected with respective individual Ethernet Bus Sections. Each coupling unit has two Ethernet Bus plugs for connecting two Bus sections. Each coupling unit has an interface for connecting an EIB user module. Each coupling unit has a signal converter for converting data according to the EIB standard into Ethernet standard data and vice versa.
