<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to print labels in different types without exchanging a roll. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system comprises: a printing apparatus, which has first and second printing mechanisms in the same with each other; first and second holding means in the same with each other, which are arranged to pass the first and second printing mechanisms respectively and hold a first and second rolls of label stocks respectively; a local processor, which is connected to supply print data to selected one of the first and second printing mechanisms, receives the print data and a command for supplying the print data to selected one of the first and second printing mechanisms, and prints images on labels accompanying a first and second label stocks respectively on the basis of the command; and a host computer, which is connected to the printing system and is placed so as to execute a common print driver for supplying the print data and the command to the printing apparatus regardless of which printing mechanism is selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
