PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination type switching device in which display part can be illuminated always even if an operating knob is operated and an opening part is not conspicuous even if the operating knob is moved because the opening part can be made small, and in which a special dustproof structure is not required. SOLUTION: The illumination type switch comprises a casing (upper case 1) having an opening part 11, an operating part 8 which is capable of movement and has at least a pair of display parts 83, and a light source 7 arranged in the casing (upper case 1 and lower case 2). The operating knob has an axial part (light guide body 6) which is inserted into the opening part 11 of the casing and is made of a light guide body of which one end part located in the casing is arranged opposed to the light source 7, a knob light guide part (operating part 8) which is installed at the lower part of the display part 83 of the operating part 8 from the end part located at the outside of the casing of the axial part and has a reflecting part 84 which reflects light to the display part 83, and a second reflecting part 62 which reflects and guides the light at the end part of the axial part to the knob light guide part.
