PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device enabling smooth returning steering operation having no sense of incongruity. SOLUTION: A base correction steering angular velocityωmb is operated based on a steering angleθ, a multiplication coefficient value k determined based on steering torque T and a vehicle speed v is multiplied on the base correction steering angular velocityωmb and then an addition coefficient value S determined based on the steering torque T is added to operate a target steering angular velocityωm. A base correction current value Isb is operated based on difference of the target steering angular velocityωm and an actual steering angular velocityωand when a steering returning determination means 43 determines the steering returning state, the base correction current value Isb is made to a returning correction current value Is. When it determines the non-steering returning state, the returning correction current value Is is made to 0.
