SEALING DEVICE FOR TWIN ROLL CASTING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device for a twin roll casting machine capable of suppressing association of atmosphere in cooling rolls. SOLUTION: The sealing device for the twin roll casting machine comprises: a transition piece 4 located above a molten metal sump 6 formed between cooling rolls 1; a rotatable columnar brush 7 which extends in the same direction as the cooling rolls 1 and is abutted over the entire length in the axial direction of an outer circumferential surface of the cooling rolls 1 from the side opposite to the molten metal sump 6 below the transition piece 4; a first cowling 9 to cover the outer circumferential surface of the cooling rolls 1 between the transition piece 4 and the brush 7; a second cowling 10 to surround a part of the brush 7 not abutted on the cooling rolls 1; a third cowling 11 to cover the cooling rolls 1 below the brush 7; and an outlet 8 to feed seal gas S toward a space between the transition piece 4 and the cooling roll 1.
