A package for chocolate bars 9 comprises a plastics foil receptacle including a rectangular bottom 2 having at two opposite edges, upstanding walls 3 each having a flange 4, and a covering sheet 8 of, e.g., paper or cardboard, bonded to the flanges 4 and to downwardly directed flanges 7 on the bottom 2. A plurality of receptacles may be simultaneously manufactured by deep drawing a flat sheet 1, the upstanding walls 3 of adjacent receptacles being joined by the flanges 4 or, as shown in Fig. 3, by the flanges 4 and additional walls 5. In variations of the package, a plurality of receptacles disposed side-by-side (Fig. 4, not shown) may have a common corrugated cover 8. Or a plurality of longitudinally disposed receptacles, Fig. 3, may have a common cover. Tear strips or weakened lines may be provided on the receptacle for opening; gripping recesses 10 being also provided to facilitate holding the package during opening. |
