<p>An electrolytic reactor for reducing lime formation and germ counts in water cooling circuits comprises flat and rod electrodes of copper, silver, stainless steel, titanium or iron located in the water stream, and a control unit such that the electrodes can be operated alternately as anodes and cathodes with direct current and direct current pulses to provide controlled release of copper and silver ions, the current intensity and polarity being adjusted automatically according to water quality.</p> |
