The method involves engaging a rotating tool (13) e.g. milling cutter (14), with a work piece on its front and peripheral sides for bringing the work piece to a final shape from a raw unit (10). Relative motion of the tool takes place away from the work piece. Entire surface of the tool is used for machining the piece, and a cavity (12) is produced in the piece by a multiple axis producing strategy. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a work piece made up of ceramic material (B) a work piece machining device comprising a machine controlling program.
