<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner from scattering from a toner discharge port when a process cartridge is loaded/unloaded. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a lock mechanism in a shutter member for opening/shutting the toner discharge port.
