<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make lower power consumption and receiving performance compatible in a portable radio communication terminal which is realized as the terminal device of a cellular phone, etc. and performs searching of a base station to be a communicating party, which is called as perch channel search when it is decided that the portable radio communication terminal is out of a system service range of the base station. <P>SOLUTION: In the portable radio communication terminal, a storage part 5 which stores the measurement result of a receiving level by a level measurement part 4 is provided, a communication control part 3 guesses the movement/stop states of the terminal on the basis of variation of the receiving level from the past at a point when it is decided that the device is located out of the system service range, or decides whether the receiving level is temporarily lowered by passage through a tunnel, etc. or the receiving level is gradually lowered by getting away from the base station, immediately reduces power consumption as a low power consumption mode when the terminal is located completely out of service area and secures responsiveness as a normal mode when the terminal is temporarily located out of the service area according to a decision result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
