PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic carrier tube facility having a transfer unit with an automatic opening/closing and automatic locking/unlocking functions for a cover and a latch for automatically extracting and storing a carried object from and to a carrier having the openable cover and the latch for locking and unlocking the cover. SOLUTION: This pneumatic carrier tube facility comprises the carrier 21 having the openable cover 22 and the latch 25 for locking and unlocking the cover 22 and a carrier tube 12 carrying the carrier 21. The transfer unit having a carrier opening/closing device formed of a locking/unlocking means 34 opening and closing the latch of the carrier 21, a cover opening/closing means 35 opening and closing the cover 22 of the carrier 21, a positioning means 33 matching the latch with the position of the locking/unlocking means 34 and also matching the cover 22 with the position of the cover opening/closing means 35, and a transfer means transferring the carrier 21 from the locking/unlocking means 34 and the cover opening/closing means 35 to the carrier tube 12 on the discharge side is disposed at any intermediate part of the carrier tube 12.
