<p>A polypropylene for an electric material, which has a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 30 g/10 min, a mesopentad fraction calculated from a <SUP>13</SUP>C-NMR spectrum of 0.90 to 0.99, a firing residue of 50 wt ppm or less relative to polypropylene, a titanium component and an iron component detected from a firing residue of 1 wt ppm or less and 0.1 wt ppm or less, respectively, relative to polypropylene, and a chlorine content of 5 wt ppm or less relative to polypropylene. Said polypropylene exhibits excellent electric insulation and has a roughened surface when it is formed into a film, and thus can be suitably used for a capacitor film without the combined use of an additive such as a ß crystal nucleating agent. It is also useful as a material of a film for coating an electric wire and a material for an appliance for conveying an electronic material.</p> |
