The method of making a blood filter involves fabricating a tube of bio-compatible material in which cut outs are formed. The cut outs define U-shaped slots in the walls f the tube. The tube has tongue sections (19,21) which extend parallel to the tube axis. One tongue of each pair (19) is formed integrally with one end (19b) of the tube and supports the other tongue (21) which is attached by a section (25) of the second end (19a) of the tube. Claims include a filter made by the method.
