<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of easily switching brightness of lighting light and beam sizes, as well as a lighting device and a projector using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 51 has a two-dimensional refractive index distribution modulated by image signals from outside, and modulates lighting light IL in a manner of two-dimensional space at every pixel unit. Thus, the light modulated at the liquid crystal panel 51, namely, an image light, is incident on a projection lens 170, and projected on a screen with an appropriate magnification. Here, the projector 110 is enabled to switch an F value of lighting by switching the light source device 120 (setting of rotation position of a concave reflector 24 or the like), and enabled to make a light modulation part 150 display an image with high contrast, or a bright image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
