PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size, weight and cost by division of a cylinder block and improve roundness of a cylinder bore and strength of the cylinder block. SOLUTION: The cylinder block 12 is divided to a cylinder 15 and a crankcase 16, a first fastening bolt 18 passes through a bearing cap 13 and the crankcase 16 from a lower part and a second fastening bolt 19 passes through a cylinder head 11 and a cylinder 15. Threaded engagement at tip part of each fastening bolt 18, 19 fastenes the cylinder head 11, the cylinder block 12 (cylinder 15, crankcase 16) and the bearing cap. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
