An improved Roman blind assembly is disclosed. The Roman blind assembly consists of a fabric screen mounted to a pair of suspension cords and a pair of pull cords. Each of the suspension cords consists of an elongated flexible cord having a plurality of loops formed along a length of the cord, each loop being a loop of flexible cord defining a loop opening. The blind assembly also includes a plurality of elongated mounting elements mounted to the fabric screen to form a plurality of parallel folds, each of said mounting element being mounted to one of the loops of each suspension cord. Finally, the blind assembly also includes a drawing mechanism for pulling up the fabr ic screen by drawing up the pull cords.
