PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a plurality of batteries from being unbalanced and discharged by always balancing and discharging all batteries during detecting the batteries in a plurality of voltage detection circuits. SOLUTION: This battery pack detects the voltage of the plurality of batteries 1 connected in series in the plurality of sets of voltage detection circuits 2. Each voltage detection circuit 2 discharges the batteries 1 by output resistances 6 in such a state that the output voltage is "High". The battery pack connects a discharge circuit 7 which connects balance resistances 8 to switching elements 9 in series to non-discharge batteries connected in series to the discharge batteries which are discharged by the output resistances 6 in parallel. When the output voltage of the voltage detection circuit 2 is "High", the battery pack discharges the non-discharge batteries in the discharge circuit 7 in such a state that the discharge batteries are discharged. When the output voltage of the voltage detection circuit 2 is "Low", the battery pack balances the discharge currents of all batteries 1 in such a state that the discharge batteries are not discharged and the non-discharge batteries are non-discharged in the discharge circuit 7.
