PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance as well the design as the functionality of a vehicle of rear protruding type. SOLUTION: The rear body structure of the vehicle of rear protruding type has a rear bumper 50 swollen out toward behind the vehicle body in the shape approximately of a circular arc and is configured so that the two ends of a rear end cross member 30 fixed between the tails 10 of a left and a right rear side frame 10 are connected with rear pillars and that the tail edges 32b are formed approximately in the shape of circular arc as swollen out toward behind the vehicle body from the tails 10a of the rear side frames 10 in compliance with the shape of the rear bumper 50 viewed on the plan while the front edges 32a are formed in an almost linear shape so as to tie together the tails 10a of the two rear side frames 10.
