PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave source searching device capable of providing a clear indication showing a position of a searching object to a searching worker, and to provide a wave source searching method capable of freely changing a monitored area using the wave source searching device. SOLUTION: The wave source searching device comprises an antenna for receiving a wave signal, an observing means for outputting position estimating information including information indicating the direction of a wave source of the wave signal having arrived at the antenna, and an indication providing means for providing a visible indication showing the position of the wave source, based on the position estimating information acquired by the observing means. The wave source retrieving method comprises an observation performing step of mounting the wave source searching device to a mobile body and making the observing means disposed in the wave source searching device perform an observation operation in response to an observation command, and a course decision support step of supporting work for determining a course for moving the mobile body by providing the indication related to the position of the wave source of the wave signal with the indication providing means disposed in the wave source searching device in response to the obtained observation result.
