<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nosing member capable of having excellent buffer efficiency while having a simple and practical structure and improving safety so that a member hiding the head of a screw by moving up and down the stair can not slip off or come off. <P>SOLUTION: The nosing member 1 is equipped with a mounting base section 2 screwed to the nosing member 41 of the stair 4 and formed of a hard resin and a surface layer section 3 consisting of a soft resin covering the surface of the mounting base section 2. The mounting base section 2 and the surface layer section 3 are integrally fixed to each other in an approximately half part on the side of the tip of the nose. A mounting groove section 24 is provided in the direction of the width of the stair in a stripe-shape on the opposite side of the tip of the nose of the mounting base section 2. The surface layer section 3 is integrally connected to the mounting base section 2 on the side of the tip of the nose, and a screw 33 is so formed that it is hidden by a screw hiding section 312 on the opposite side of the tip of the nose.
