<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery suppressing corrosion, even when charge and discharge are frequently repeated in a low SOC (a state of charge) and enhancing the lifetime performance in the lead-acid battery containing a trace of Sb in a negative active material and containing no Sb in a part other than the negative active material. <P>SOLUTION: A positive grid, a negative grid, ledge parts 5, 6, and a connecting members 9, 10, such as a connector, are constituted with lead or a lead alloy containing no Sb, Sb is contained in the negative active material, and a negative plate 3 is housed in a bag-shaped separator 4 made of an oil-containing microporous synthetic resin sheet.
