PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hollow resin particles without fusion even when directly heated and expanded without drying a water-containing cake of thermo-expansive microcapsules. SOLUTION: The method for producing hollow resin particles is to heat and expand without drying the water-containing cake (C) comprising the particles (B) which are a dispersion stabilizer during polymerization, thermo-expansive microcapsules (A) prepared by using silica with an acrylic polymer having 90-180°C glass transition temperature as a shell, and water.
