<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize printing automatically corrected by appropriate trapping depending on the model and print settings of an output printer. <P>SOLUTION: A step of automatically setting the aspect ratio of a prepared trapping area is employed. The aspect ratio of the prepared trapping area is an aspect ratio with an increased height or an aspect ratio with an increased width.
