<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate unnecessary phase adjustments when forming color images by using a monochromatic photoconductor and a color photoconductor. <P>SOLUTION: This color image forming device has a monochrome filler 6 for a monochromatic photoconductor 2 and a monochrome phase adjusting sensor 7, a color filler 4 for a color photoconductor 1 and a color phase adjusting sensor 5, a timer 10 to measure the time between from the monochrome phase adjusting sensor 7 to the color phase adjusting sensor 5 and to measure the time between from the color phase adjusting sensor 5 to the monochrome phase adjusting sensor 7, and a system control section 9 which shifts the phase difference within 0-360° between the monochromatic photoconductor 2 and the color photoconductor 1 to measure the displacements by the phase differences with the timer 10 and controls the device not to make further phase adjustment if the displacement is as predetermined or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
