PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplex disk controller for determining a master disk only with the use of data recorded in a disk device. SOLUTION: When device information of the other side disk (i.e., a second HDD) recorded in the non-duplexed area of a first HDD coincides with the device information (of the second HDD) recorded in the device information area of the second HDD being the other party disk and also the device information of the other side disk (i.e., the first HDD) recorded in the second HDD coincides with the device information (of the first HDD) recorded in the first HDD being the other party disk (S 300: YES), it can be determined that "correlative reliability is high in the recorded device information" in both the first and second HDDs. Accordingly, a master is not determined in S340 but, eventually, the first HDD is defined as the master in a main processing which is not shown in Figure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
