摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption type polarizer in which a shape of a dielectric material used for a substrate or a filler as a polarizer and a shape of aluminum used as an absorbing body can be independently selected, which has high thermal resistance and high transmissivity of light of a wavelength region including a visible light region and to provide a transmission type liquid crystal projector apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizer is provided with a transparent substrate 1, a plurality of aluminum columnar bodies 2 mutually independently arranged on the transparent substrate 1, an oxide film 3 formed on a surface of the columnar body 2 and a transparent dielectric 4 filling between the columnar bodies 2.
