<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly having a supporting table with a structure deformed so as to prevent an upper portion of the backlight assembly from being bent; and to provide a display device having the backlight assembly having the supporting table having the improved structure. <P>SOLUTION: This application relates to this backlight assembly having the improved supporting table and this display device having it. The backlight assembly includes a lamp for supplying light, and the supporting table having a base board installed along with the lamp, and a supporting part fixed on it and extending in a light emitting direction with a predetermined thickness.
