PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveform equalization method by which a tap coefficient is accurately converged to enhance an equalization performance without increasing the amount of operations by using only short known signals in a radio format. SOLUTION: This waveform equalizer receives the known signals to be periodically transmitted, performs training using the continuously received known signals in predetermined time Ta and stores the tap coefficient in a tap coefficient storage part 110 at the end of the training (at end time of the time Ta). In the next training in time Tb, the training is performed after setting the tap coefficient stored in the tap coefficient storage part 110 as an initial value of the tap coefficient at the time of starting the training.
