PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means ensuring simple and reliable setting work for communicating between an exchange and a communication terminal corresponding to a telephone being connected with that exchange. SOLUTION: The exchange system 1 comprising an exchange 2, a telephone 3 being connected with that exchange 2, and a communication terminal 4 corresponding to that telephone 3 is further provided with a first communication means and a second communication means through which the exchange 2 communicates with the outside. The exchange 2 and the communication terminal 4 corresponding to the telephone 3 being connected with the exchange 2 transmit/receive information for communicating through an LAN interface, i.e. the second communication means, by using an extension interface, i.e. the first communication means.
