PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of setting and releasing an operation inhibition without inputting a password code while confirming characters such as numerals displayed on a key when the operation inhibition is set and released. SOLUTION: The portable terminal has an input section 5 disposed apart from an operating section 3 and a password-code storage section 7 storing a code input by operating the input section 5 as the password code. The portable terminal further has a control unit 6 connected to the input 5 and the password-code storage 7 respectively and setting and releasing the operation inhibition by inputting the password code previously stored in the password-code storage 7 by the input 5.
