PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize stable and peripheral movement of a pin relative to a groove when rocking an input arm and a rock arm while pushing the pin against the inside face of the groove when moving a control shaft in the axial direction. SOLUTION: At the front end of the pin 31 protruded from the outer peripheral face of the control shaft 16, a bush 35 is mounted to be fitted into the groove 34 of a slider 26. The slider 26 is moved in the axial direction with the axial movement of the control shaft 16, thus providing variable valve property for an intake valve. During lifting of the intake valve, resulting reaction acts as axial load F on the slider 26.
