The pyrotechnic composition, especially for ignition of a vehicle airbag inflation system, has a spontaneous ignition temperature of 140-180[deg]C and contains at least 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole-5-on (NTO) at a level of 20-60 wt.%. The NTO is stabilized with an average grain size of 200-600 mu m and/or the composition contains sufficient oil to stabilize the NTO.
